Jeg får mange spørsmål fra dere, og i dag vil jeg ta opp et spørsmål som mange lurer på, som går ut på hvordan å klare å være takknemlig. De av dere som kjenner meg, og som har fulgt meg en stund, vet hvor viktig det er for meg å være takknemlig og å finne de tingene jeg er takknemlig for hver eneste dag.
En av mine tidligere kunder sa til meg en gang: «Rachel, jeg har ingenting å være takknemlig for. Kroppen min er dårlig, jeg føler meg dårlig, og jeg har vondt i hodet hver eneste dag.»
Da spurte jeg denne kunden om hun hadde andre steder i kroppen som var like vondt som hodet hennes.
«Tja.. Beina mine er friske. Armene også. Magen min er ikke vond..»
De fleste delene på kroppen hennes fungerte faktisk veldig bra, og den eneste tingen som ikke fungerte var det vonde hodet hennes. Det som skjer når man kun gir oppmerksomhet til èn del av kroppen, er at for eksempel et vondt hode får all fokus og oppmerksomhet.
Takknemlighet er et verktøy
En ting man må være oppmerksom på i tilfeller som dette, er å være takknemlig for de tingene som faktisk fungerer i kroppen. De fleste av oss er så heldige å kunne bruke de sterke beina våre til å gå med, og vi kan bruke armene til å lage mat med og å klemme gode venner.
Det er stor magi i takknemlighet. Jeg vil utfordre deg til å ha fokus på de tingene som er bra i livet ditt, for absolutt alle har ting de kan være takknemlig for. Det er opp til deg å velge om du skal ha fokus på de tingene som fungerer i livet ditt, eller på det som ikke fungerer i livet ditt.
Det er så utrolig viktig å være TAKKNEMLIG for det du allerede har i livet ditt.
Tro meg, jeg hadde tidligere vond rygg i flere år, som mange av dere allerede vet. Jeg vet hvor vanskelig det er å snu fokuset om til det som faktisk fungerer når jeg følte det var en såpass stor del av meg som ikke fungerte. Men dette er bare trening, trening, trening. Du må praktisere og øve på å bli flink på dette med takknemlighet. Da jeg startet å jobbe med å være takknemlig for de andre tingene enn ryggen min, så klarte jeg å snu fokuset og å sakte men sikkert bli bedre.
Jeg skriver ned det jeg er takknemlig for i en bok. Det er bare SÅ viktig for meg å ha fokus på det som er bra. Har jeg ikke dette fokuset, er det lett å gå inn i en negativ spiral, og det vil jeg ikke.
Takknemlighet er hverdagsmagi
Mitt beste tips til deg er å skape magi i hverdagen din gjennom å ta vare på de små øyeblikkene, ta vare på deg selv, ta vare på kroppen din, og legg vekt på det positive. Se hvor stor verdi du har, for verdi ligger ikke i penger og materielle ting, men i ditt eget hjerte. Gjennom takknemlighet vil du finne hverdagsmagi til å få et bedre liv for hver dag som går.
