Spørsmålet jeg har stilt i overskriften kan være vanskelig å svare på: «Hva vil det si å være lykkelig?» Lykke oppleves på mange forskjellige måter, men felles for alle som opplever lykke er en følelse av glede og eufori, og fravær av tristhet. Et mer konkret spørsmål i denne sammenheng, som er mye enklere å svare konkret på, er: «Hva skal til for at du er lykkelig?»

I dette blogginnlegget skal jeg fortelle deg om fem ting som gjør meg lykkelig hver dag, men først vil jeg snakke litt om hva du kan gjøre for å komme nærmere den fantastiske hverdagslykken i ditt liv.

Tenk igjennom dette..

Det er en stor sannsynlighet for at du stopper deg selv fra å være lykkelig, helt uten at du vet det selv. Det du sender ut gjennom ditt budskap forsterker hvem du er, og er din sannhet utad. Hva sender du egentlig ut? Bekymringer, stress og klaging? I så fall jobber du deg sakte, men sikkert lengre og lengre bort fra å være lykkelig. Send heller ut positivitet og glede til alle rundt deg, og observer hvordan det smitter over på dem og skaper en flott, lykkelig atmosfære. I tillegg ønsker de fleste å være sammen med andre mennesker som også er positive, og det skaper en positiv sirkel.

Vi blir mer lykkelige når vi er åpne for å se det som er rundt oss, og åpen for at andre kanskje har ideer som kan være mer innsiktsfulle og verdifulle enn det vi sitter på av informasjon. Slik opplever du også å få økt kunnskap og mer sympati og verdi av dine relasjoner. Å være en god lytter vil også hjelpe deg å føle deg mer verdsatt, og andre opplever deg som vennlig og hyggelig å være sammen med. Mennesker som er flinke til å lytte har som regel flere venner og gode forbindelser enn de som avbryter andre. Og flere venner fører uten tvil til mer latter, glede og lykke.

Er du knyttet til ting rundt deg? Må du ha forskjellige ting i livet ditt for at du skal være lykkelig? Føler du at dersom du bare hadde hatt den genseren, den nye mobiltelefonen, eller dette sminkesettet – så ville du vært lykkelig? Da vil du med stor sannsynlighet aldri bli helt lykkelig, og det vil alltid være noe som mangler i livet ditt. Dersom du klarer å være fornøyd med det du allerede har, så er sjansene for at du er lykkelig mye større enn dersom du hele tiden har fokus på det du mangler.

Til slutt ønsker jeg at du dropper unnskyldningene. Legger du skylden på andre for at du ikke er der du skulle ønske at du var i livet ditt? Eller er du for sen på jobb på grunn av den gamle mannen som kjørte så sakte foran deg? Uansett hvilken «unnskyldning» du har, så kan det være lurt å stoppe med dem nå. Det kan være en stor fordel å heller tenke «Hva kan jeg gjøre annerledes slik at jeg lykkes?» Da er du intern i tankegangen din, og løsningsorientert. Løsningsorienterte mennesker er lykkeligere enn de som ikke er det.

Hva sier forskningen?

Lykke har også blitt undersøkt mye i forskningen, og slike resultater er alltid interessant å lese om siden det er mange mennesker som deltar i slike undersøkelser.

Mennesker med høy livskvalitet og hverdagslykke har ofte disse kjennetegnene:

  • De har gode sosiale relasjoner, der kvaliteten er viktigere enn antallet relasjoner.
  • De bruker tid og energi på venner, familie og parforhold – de kan gi og ta imot.
  • De har livsmål, ambisjoner og drømmer.
  • De er venn med seg selv, har god selvfølelse og evne 
til å utrykke takknemlighet.
  • De har mentale album som inkluderer gode bilder fra 
fortiden.
  • De har mestringsstrategier for ulike livsutfordringer.
  • De opplever mening og kontroll i eget liv, og foretar gode valg.
  • De er til stede i livet, og i hverdagens øyeblikk.
  • De har mer fokus på hva som er godt enn hva som er best.
  • De har en iboende tendens til optimisme og evne til å 
overse bagateller.
  • De er fysisk aktive, har god helse og får nok søvn.
  • De er nysgjerrige, entusiastiske og interesserte i å lære 
nye ting

Det påpekes at det er få mennesker som har alle disse egenskapene på en gang, men at det hjelper å ha noen av dem for å være lykkelig. Nettopp disse egenskapene kan du videreutvikle med mental trening, og gjennom å jobbe med deg selv hver eneste dag. Og tro meg, å jobbe med seg selv, tankene sine, og mental trening hver dag er utrolig viktig – og ikke minst så fungerer det! Det er jeg et levende bevis på, for jeg har aldri en dårlig dag lenger. Ja, jeg kan selvfølgelig bli irritert på noe, men det gir seg utrolig raskt fordi jeg velger å ikke bruke tiden min på det. Hadde jeg brukt mye tid på å irritere meg over småting, eller å gruble masse, så gjør det at jeg blir mindre lykkelig, og jeg ønsker nettopp det motsatte.

Mine lykkepunkter

Som jeg lovte så skal jeg fortelle deg hva det er som gir meg glede hver eneste dag, og som jeg takker for og setter pris på hver kveld.

Her er fem punkter som gjør meg lykkelig:

  • Å bruke kvalitetstid med familien min fordi deg gjør godt for hjertet, og det føles bra å kunne bruke tid sammen med dem jeg elsker
  • Å hjelpe andre mennesker ved å dele kunnskap om hvordan man kan bli mer lykkelig. Jeg tror at personlig utvikling vil gi deg et bedre liv – fordi jeg har erfart det selv.
  • Å reise fordi da får jeg oppleve andre kulturer, og jeg får nye impulser utenifra
  • Å lage god mat som er godt og sunt for helsen min slik at jeg får de beste forutsetninger for å ha god mental og fysisk helse
  • Å trene fordi fysiske styrke gjør at jeg blir mentalt sterkere, og det gjør at jeg er sjef i mitt liv
